WE BOUGHT AN INN...

2AIR March Part1-49.jpg

Beloved Lincoln City Landmark

Little did we know what adventures awaited us when we set out in July 2019 to buy the Historic Anchor Inn - a 23 room property on the Oregon coast.

Built in 1942 as a motor court, it is the first and oldest hotel in Lincoln City, and is now a beloved landmark of local residents. After a succession of owners over the decades, it fell into disrepair before being purchased by Kip Ward in 2006. Kip re-envisioned the motel as a charming coastal lodging and decorated it with an eye for detail and a passion for the antique and quirky. Out of the bland rooms and uninviting pavement of the motor court sprang a unique and unforgettable Inn that beckons its guests to step back in time. Custom woodwork, artfully designed public spaces and private nooks appear around every corner, while artifacts of all kinds line its walls. An historic treasure trove, the Anchor Inn was updated with modern conveniences as well.

With the passing of Kip, the inn was listed for sale, and our family made an offer the seller couldn't refuse. Half a year later we found ourselves the excited (and slightly nervous) owners of The Historic Anchor Inn.

Teaming up with our families, friends, and creative design partners we began the thrilling process of renovation and reinvention - to bring the place back to life as the new and improved ANCHOR INN RESORT.

Conveniently located just minutes from Chinook Winds Casino, the Pacific Coast, and many popular hiking trails and small local shops, the inn provides a restful and relaxing oasis that is easy for guests to access from Highway 101.

As a boutique hotel, the 1940's Anchor Inn Lodge offers 10 finely appointed staterooms, and 13 courtyard cabins. Our gardens, firepits, complimentary smore kits and pet friendly property provide something for everyone. We are also able to host gatherings and events of 50-75 guests in our indoor and outdoor venue space.

We hope you will fall in love with the Anchor as we have, and return again and again to enjoy its comfortable, old world charm. We invite you to join us on your next coastal adventure, and “Drop Anchor” after a long day on Lincoln City’s beautiful 7 mile beach.
